I Mean Seriously......

I mean, I'm not one to get into the political debate. I loved Sarah Palin. Wasn't too big on McCain, but......This guy. This guy is the scum bag of the earth.

Wife dying of cancer, running for the President of the U.S....Two young children...and you go and have an affair, make a raunchy tape, and then MAKE a baby!!! seriously....... I have no more words for this guy. Unbelievable.

Say Cheese

I've been thinking about giving up dairy.

Actually, I've been thinking about it for a long time. I may just do it this time. The ONE thing that is holding me back is cheese......I love me some cheese. Goat cheese in particular. But also Cream Cheese, Parmesan, Feta, Blue, Cheddar....you name the cheese. I love it.

I also love some half and half....and whole milk.

But I also really enjoy soy milk. And I like non dairy creamer in my coffee, so I don't think it would be that hard of an adjustment for me.

I was allergic to milk when I was a baby. I eventually out grew my allergy, but sometimes I wonder if it is still the cause of many of the issues I have with allergies.

Anyway. I may take the plunge. We'll see.......

No Stress Policy

Back in college my sister and I used to say we had a "no stress policy"....if it stressed us out we just didn't do it....haha. like homework, working out, etc.

It was a funny joke back then. But recently I've been thinking about the things that are causing stress in my life. I've decided I'm gonna cut some things out. Just quit worrying about them, because they are making life more difficult.

1. I'm gonna quit stressing out about my weight. I'm done. I've worried/thought about my weight probably every day since I was 10 years old. When I graduated high school I was 5'7 and 115lbs. And I thought I was fat....And on and on every day since then. I'm over it! I'm gonna still work out like I have been. Eating the right things (most of the time). but I'm done stressing about it.

2. I"m gonna quit buying a paper every Sunday and never looking at the coupons. I'm gonna quit stressing out about coupons! I know they are suppose to make life easier by helping save money, but they just stress me out! The papers just add clutter to my house, then once I get around to clipping the coupons I buy stuff I don't use! I'm over this too.

3. If I don't want breakfast I ain't gonna eat it! I'm going to quit stressing out about eating breakfast every day. I don't care if it's the most important meal of the day. Some days I just don't want breakfast.

4. I'm gonna drink my diet coke. Every day. And I'm not gonna feel guilty about it. Life is too short. I'm southern, native of Georgia at that. My blood needs Coke to run efficiently. So there. I'm not stressing about that any more either.

5. Finally, If my kid watches T.V. so that I can go to the bathroom alone. I'm not going to stress about it. I'm not going to worry about her brain not developing properly because she watched 30 minutes of Sid The Science Kid. I'm over that as well.

I feel better now!

Nature's Perfect Fruit

During the winter months Clementines are at their peak. If Emery could eat her weight in fruit it would be clementines, (she can also throw down some cherries but that's for another day).

Clementines are the perfect fruit for little ones. they are seedless, small. Easy to peel, sweet and full of nutrients. She eats at least two a day. Winter days are great for citrus fruits. ..... Benji and I have also become big fans of this perfect fruit. Sooooo good first thing in the morning or in late afternoon.

Class of 1996

Facebook friends have been posting throw back pics and I couldn't resist posting one of me. Soon I will try and upload some of the ones I have in archives, but for now this is one I have stolen from a friend. This was our Baccalaureate service in 1996.

Hugh Carson, (starting on your top left): just graduated from seminary. Matt Almand, is a lawyer, Lee McGill, in school to be a Doctor. Jeff Smith, Air Force. Kelly West, a college professor, and me.....well, you know me. :)

I'd say I hung out with some pretty okay kids.

What's In Your Bag?

Well. I'm obsessed with makeup. Mostly just buying it, because now I can go days without putting it on....It's the whole stay at home mom thing ya know....Any way. Thought I'd share what's in my makeup bag....My favorite products. This bag is the one that stays at home. I have a different one in my purse, which I'll save for another day!

First, my MAC bronzer which I've used for years. I haven't found one I like better.

MAC concealer. I do use Bare Minerals too, but when I'm in a hurry I just resort back to my trusty MAC. It's really moisturizing too, so that also saves a step.

I love love this lip gloss. It's by Bare Minerals and it has a great flavor, (which i think is a problem for a lot of glosses)....it's real minty and fresh.

I don't wear this all the time because it just takes some time...But when I do wear eyeshadow this is it. Bare Minerals is a fabulous brand! You just buy the kit for eyes and it comes with easy to do instructions on how to apply a great looking eye. This fun kit which I have also comes with a blush and a travel size of the Buxom lip gloss.

I'm a firm believer that if you could only wear one item of makeup it should always be mascara. This is a great inexpensive one.

Benefit is another one of my favorite brands. It has such fun items. I love this mascara and I often use both this one and the Colossal.

I remember the first time my sister and I ran across this gem. We both bought it at Mast General Store years ago. I have been hooked ever since. I actually use this for everything. My favorite use is to take off my eye makeup. It removes that leftover under eye smudge(after a night of sleeping in mascara)in a flash! I love it for dry cuticles and of course for lips.

Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain....there is a funny story behind this product. you must google it and check out why it was created in the first place. BUT it is my favorite product ever. It is a great natural looking blush. Because it is a stain you can use it alone w/o looking funny and it stays put

Finally, last but not least, my favorite lip balm. Burts Bee's...you can not get any better than this brand for lip moisture.

On A Good Day

So today, yesterday and the day before, were good days.

You know what I'm talking about. Well, if you're a mom you do.

Some days are just better than others. Today I've caught myself thinking, "man, I love__________".

More than once in fact today I've thought that. So I figured why not take advantage of my overtly sunshiny disposition and list my loves!

Things I Love Today:

1. Emery: She finally feels better, which means she is in a better mood/and sleeping/napping better and this makes her so much easier to love.

2. Zumba: If you don't know what it is google it. I. Love. it.

3. Coffee: Today I would have married it if I could have.

4. The Lovely Bones: The book, I'm reading. I can't get enough.

5. Sleeping 10 hours: Like I did last night. (See #1.) When Emery sleeps better I sleep better.

6. Peanut butter: (See #2) I've upped my workout schedule to 5 days a week. I need/want/ have to have more protein. Yay for peanut butter.

7. Benji: He did all the laundry yesterday. And put it away. And let me sleep in (see #5).

8. Netflix...again, if you don't know. google.

9. 2010: The promise and freshness of a new year.

10. Nick Jr....makes it possible for me to go to the bathroom ALONE.

LOVE TO ALL!

Resolution: 2010

WHHHEWWWW! We had a whirlwind of a Christmas holiday. While I'm waiting/procrastinating on uploading pics from Christmas, I'll post on my resolutions.

I love love love New Years. It's a reminder of God's mercies being new each morning. We always have a second chance around the corner, IF we are in Christ.

New Years reminds me of this.... So each year I join the masses in setting goals.

I have to say that I stuck with many from last year. Including the resolve to work out.

So here's my list for 2010. :)

Do better at couponing, saving money at the grocery.

Manage my time at home more wisely.

Go to bed earlier!

De clutter our home regularly.

Focus my time on the people and things that matter the most, i.e...clean out the "clutter" in my relationships, spare time, hobbies, etc.

That's it! I think that's a a pretty lofty list. A lot easier to list them on paper than to actually do them.

Here's to 2010 being a year full of undeserved blessing and mercies fresh each morning!
