Desperate Confessions: Part Deux

Well, I should title this random confessions, but whatever.

I TOTALLY saw Jentezen Franklin on RHOC (Real Housewives of Orange Co.) last night!

I mean that just takes my thoughts on him to a whole new level.

I can not even go there right now!

Like, he was having breakfast at Alexis' house....a whole segment with him and his wife....like TEN MINUTES...

Okay, yeah I watch that show. Yeah I watch the reruns.

Emery is obsessed. I mean completely obsessed with shoes. I mean I can't really blame her. I figure it is genetic.

The first thing she wants to do in the morning is put on shoes. If she doesn't have her shoes on, she is walking around in my shoes.

Her favorite pair of my shoes are these lovely red leather peep toe wedges.

They are a little too frustrating for her to walk in. She gets really upset when she falls in them, as any woman would. So I've had to hide them for now.

Note to self: Don't feed Emery Blood Oranges anymore. Especially in the living room.

They are called Blood Oranges for a reason.

I am so ready for spring.

I am also so ready for Emery to start talking. This whining all day is driving me insane. I know she gets frustrated because she knows in her head what she wants to say.

The Olympics have been so fun to watch. I get sucked in every time.

Yesterday was the 5th anniversary of my Dad's passing. I can't believe it has been five years. I still think about him every day.

Girl Scout cookies are out and in full effect. So watch out or they will get you. Like they got me yesterday. But it is a good cause right? Even if they are like 12 dollars a box now.

Okay. I think that's it for now.

Love, peace and chicken grease!

Blog Roll

I stinkin love the pioneer woman's blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean I know I've posted this before. but seriously if you haven't checked it out and you are a woman, mother, wife, cooker of all things food......PLEASE check out her blog. It. Is. Amazing. I love her!

Proactive Parenting

After 6+ ear infections in 7 months...(I really lost count) 1,000's of dollars in medical expenses for tubes, I've decided I am going to start being more proactive in keeping Emery away from germs.

If people can't keep their sick kids home from church like the rules say,

then I am going to keep my well child home.

I am so over irresponsible people.

My Choice

Okay, Okay. I know I have a tendency to be pessimistic. I like to think of myself as a realist. But I realize how it may come across some days.

I just hate pretentiousness and I think there is so much of it out there in the infamous stay at home mom world.

Which is why when I'm feeling something I tend to let it out whether or not it is perceived as negative.

But I realize that I neglect to blog my "most everyday" feelings about motherhood. Since I feel this way the majority of the time I sometimes forget to mention it.

Make sense?

Any way. I'm here today to state that I freakin love my job. I am one of the lucky ones who got the choice of whether or not to stay home. I have the ability and education to work if I wish, (which some do not). I also have the support of an amazing husband that would love and support whatever choice I made regarding working, (which some do not)...... I wake up most days excited about the next few hours I get to spend drinking coffee, eating breakfast and snuggling, laughing with E. I go to bed most nights resisting the urge to go in her room after she is asleep an scoop her up into my arms and rock her.......

Some days I don't love it. Just like any other "position"....

But most days I do. Most days I can not get enough of my daughter and the hours we spend together every day. Most days my heart is so full I physically ache inside.

I would not trade this time in my life for any amount of money, house, car, vacation...(whatever my extra salary would buy).

Okay. Just wanted to make that clear. So the next time I have a bad day and want to post about it you guys (and I) can refer back to this post and remember that sometimes ya just have a rotten few hours. But most days....most days are magic.

False Advertising

So during the summer Olympics Emery was born. Needless to say we watched every event...over and over and over......at 9, 12, 3, and 6....haha.

Watching the winter Olympics this week has brought back many memories.

One commercial they keep running, however, kind of bothers me.

The one from McDonald's....That says their chicken nuggets are a "favorite" of the Olympians.......

Now I'm all for, "all things in moderation." While I feed Emery a healthy diet of homemade food. I don't' stress out if she eats a meal or two of fast food chicken nuggets every now and then.

BUT I seriously DOUBT that those Olympians are eating Micky D's as a regular diet. I mean you do not become an Olympian eating chicken nuggets and fries on a regular basis.

Just sayin.........

I Have No Words

I have no words for how beautiful this child is. I mean I know I should think that....but I pride myself on being pretty honest.

And she's honestly the most adorable child ever.

My Valentine

This weekend Benji surprised me with an overnight get away in Asheville.

If you haven't visited that city.

You must. It is such a great town.

We stayed here. The Princess Anne Hotel.

And we also went here for some chocolate heaven. The French Broad Chocolate Lounge.

I'll make a post later about each individual truffle experience. They are to die for.

Any way. Funny thing I do when we have a weekend to ourselves, I catch myself looking through my pictures of Emery.

Because she is so dang cute. And when she isn't here I have to get my fix some how.

These few pics are from the weekend we spent with Asher for his birthday.

So adorable, these two kids. They Don't get any cuter.

June 2010

Did I mention that we have A layover here on our way back from Serbia?

Hallelujer.

Desperate Confessions Of A Housewife

Today.....Yes it was one of those days. One where I think "how did my life turn into this!?" "Did I really just change out of one pair of sweat pants for another? Have I brushed my teeth today???"

Don't get me wrong some days I LOVE these days. Today, not so much.

My insomnia has hit yet again. I've decided that instead of lying in the bed listening to Benji breathe, Vance breathe, Emery breathe (through her monitor)...I'm gonna start getting up and doing constructive things. A few times I have cleaned the kitchen at 3 a.m....but that makes some noise, so tonight I broke out the ol' blogger and decided to purge my wandering 3 a.m thoughts.

Correction on the previous post about John Edwards: He isn't the biggest scum bag on earth. There is one more....I digress.

I'm think I'm finally burning out on reading so much. For awhile there I was reading around 4 books every two weeks. But the last three I checked out I couldn't finish. One was a memoir. I think the reason I don't like memoirs is because you usually know the ending when you start. So why read it? Any way it wasn't holding my attention, so I've decided to quit reading it! Novel Idea, huh? And since I didn't buy it I can just turn it back in to the library, with out feeling guilty.

Here is something you all can pray about for me. I don't ask for prayer much. I should but...whatever.

This summer, June, I am planning on going with Benji and his senior kids to Serbia. I am super excited. But super nervous. Not about going, but about leaving Emery. Not about leaving her with our parents, b/c I do that all the time. Something about visualizing the distance that will be between us really makes me physically ache.

It's a mom thing I know. I know that I'm not being rational. I know that she will have a ball with grandparents. I also feel like maybe I'm being a bad mom for leaving her. I know that's not rational either.

Being a mom just makes you crazy. Certified crazy.

I am not pregnant! I'm just gonna start this next paragraph out with that disclaimer okay.

But, I have starting thinking, "maybe I'm ready for another cute, alien like creature, that never sleeps and hates my boobs, baby...." but then I think about the nausea I had...uuuuuuhhhhhh. Seriously, I haven't forgotten.

If I could just take a month off and go somewhere alone to recoup from the past 2 years, wait...3, no 5 years...I think I would be good to go. I mean the past 5 years of our life has been an emotional whirlwind. Maybe that is what they call life?

Anyway, I know now why housewives used to either stick their heads in the oven, or check them selves into treatment! ha!

Some days are just desperate.

Love Her

I am quickly becoming quite the Gaga fan.
