22 weeks.

I'm 22 weeks as of yesterday. Some days I feel huge, some days I feel barely pregnant. I actually am enjoying the way I look and feel...(when I'm not at work!)

We also wanted to share a typical night of relaxing on the couch. Vance's usual spot is either on my belly or Benji's.... Soon he will not be able to lay with his mommy, how sad! We have already been thinking about how Vance will accept his new sister.

And lastly, Benji wanted some camera time too, so he posed for this one.....

Gastric Bypass Or A Baby?

Lately I've been having some issues. Yes I still have to go to the bathroom 1,000 times a day, have cramps, aches and pains like never before....but this new issue, well I'm taking it a little harder than the rest.

I can only eat half of what I used to eat in a sitting...seriously, I feel like I've had gastric bypass.

One of the things I was looking forward to most about being pregnant was getting to eat and really enjoy it!

Last night we went to eat Mexican... I could only eat ONE fajita before I felt like I was going to bust. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk, I couldn't even sit up straight I was so stinking full.

After one little ol' fajita......and I was starving when we got there.

Very frustrating.

I expected to feel this way later on....like in the last couple months of pregnancy, but not this early on. I'm only half way through.

I'll try to post some new pictures tomorrow.

Wishful Thinking

"Got my toes done" today.....wore flip flops....even though yesterday it snowed.

I'm not giving in to the cold weather any longer. It is spring and I am embracing it.

Is It 4:15 again?

The great 80's movie Flight of the Navigator is on T.V. right now and it is taking me back....way back.

This week I was so exhausted. I worked 40 hours, with 4 of the 5 days getting up at 4:15....a.m. that is. I know that most pregnant women work the entire time they are pregnant, but it is really hard for me to get up at 4:15, and then stand for basically eight hours.

I woke up one morning this week with cramps in my legs and stomach so bad I thought for a minute I might be in pre term labor.... but I wasn't I was just so sore from standing the day before....

My mom told me I should exercise, but you know... that's probably not going to happen.

So that's my pity party. I just took alot of Tylenol this week and slept when I wasn't at Starbucks.

I'm actually getting kind of sad about leaving work in 4 months. There are alot of things I won't miss, but many more things that I will. I've spent four long years of my life out in the Prospect Starbucks.

Hebrew is going as expected. Benji and I are both taking it online so it is easy to remember to do stuff, but we are so not motivated anymore! I've got 5 quizzes and one test left until I am officially a graduate of Southern Seminary.

Benji is still working hard driving the cheese full time and taking 4 classes.

Since I've been pregnant he has picked up some great dinner ideas. He has become quite the cook. He's always been the baker in the house, but now he can also make some mean dinners.

The fact that he bakes cakes all the time does not help my fear of gaining 70 pounds while pregnant....

Benji is still sending out resumes almost every week. We are hopeful and anxious to know where we will be this time next year.

We have met with our real estate agent and plan on putting our condo on the market some time in July. We are just praying that the timing works out with Benji finding a job, Emery coming into our lives, and selling our condo....all in the same few months!

We are going to try and register soon for some baby stuff. I have to admit the task seems a little overwhelming. I have no idea where to start with strollers, car seats, etc.....

It snowed a little today, again. I am ready for some sun and sand.

That is about all the updates for now... we are just working hard, studying a little, waiting on sunshine and of course.... waiting on Emery.

20 weeks: and some reflection

Some things I hate about being pregnant.....
1. bladder infections
2. back aches
3. ligament pain
4. peeing every stinking 5 minutes
5. heartburn
6. caffiene withdrawl headaches
7. seeing the number on the scale go up every day, and there's nothing you can do....

Some things I love about being pregnant.....
1. finally having an excuse to sleep when I want
2. Wendy's frosty equals calcium and protien
3. being proud of my belly for the first time in my life
4. being able to eat six times a day and feel good about it
5. feeling Emery twirl around in my belly
6. knowing that my life will no longer be all about me
7. maternity jeans are the best thing ever invented
8. indulging in blueberries, blackberries and strawberries
9. having an excuse to sit down for a few minutes every hour at work

and finally......
10. the C-cup is quickly becoming a thing of the past

19 weeks

19 weeks. Benji can no longer keep up with the belly bump. I have began to feel the baby moving. Feels like fish swimming around and bumping into my insides. It is funny and always catches me by surprise. This Wednesday is the big day. We find out if we are having a boy or girl, finally! I have been feeling pretty good. I could still sleep all day, (which some would say is nothing abnormal) but no more sickness. I get full really fast and indegestion has been occasional but not really a problem. I am still peeing like 20 times a day.

No more snow post. I have put a lock down on the blogspot. Benji can no longer access it without level 3 clearance....okay that is a lame 24 joke....which we have been watching alot of these days. Almost caught up with the regular seasons.

Sorry, I can't stop...

The inner kid is to big. I can't stay out of the snow. I felt my new buddy needed a little more of an original look. So I thought I would give him legs. I thought he would crumble(Let me point out that his legs are divided all the way through), but he must have gained some inner strength from reading Dr. Mohler's new book.(which is a rather good little read might I say). Maybe, this is now the last of thesnow pictures?

Benji had way to much fun...

The last pictures of snow. I promise. I wouldn't let Benji do anymore donuts in the parking lot so he channeled his inner child and made a kickin snow man. Intelligent, sporty and an avid golfer....just like his creator.

Now to continue the count down until we go to the beach.....

More and more snow.

more pics...our poor Vance didnt' know what to think.

Snow

Here is a picture of the table in the back with a ruler stuck in the snow. Now if you can't read this ruler look at the next picture....
Thats right that is 13 inches!

Now if you look close at the pictures of my truck one is before I went out and did the exact opposite of everything my parents ever taught me. Thats right... before Kristi woke up and could stop me I took my big ol' 4x4 Z71 with some BFG's on it out for a little spin in the snow. Let me just add as a side note, that thing is a beast!! Not one problem! Even on the few roads that I was lucky enough to find that had not been plowed by the city.(Don't let me get started on the city...what a bunch of kill joys...I had to drive around a while before I found unplowed roads!) I am still hoping to round up a sledding buddy cause Kristi is using the "I am 20 wks pregnant excuse" which I guess is excusable this time...

And it ain't over yet..

Here are a few pictures of the back porch for all those who don't live in the wonderful city of Louisville where you can have a beautiful sunny 50 degree day(like we had here yesterday) followed by 4 3/4 inches of snow. And the weather stations say that this is not even the "heavy snow." They are forcasting for another 6-12 inches of snow tonight. I will update tomorrow with the final total and more pictures. If anyone wants to go play in the snow just give me a holla...

Dreams

Dreaming of warmer times....83 days until we meet again.

18 weeks and a lazy Saturday.

I'm 18 weeks today. Everything has been going well except for the nasty cold I had this week. I am getting bigger every day it feels, but I still haven't gained much weight. But I know that is coming. We will post some new pictures soon!

Gluttony = The Flu

I've never been one to freak out over germs and cleanliness. Don't get me wrong, I love a clean house and a shower. I like to be clean, have a slight addiction to perfumes and lotions, but I've never been one to wash my hands 50 times a day..... until now.

Recently I developed a fear of shaking hands during the greeting at church. It really is pointless. For a church like Riverbend everybody has been talking for 20 minutes anyway. For a church like the one we go to now the people I sit around are people I will never see again and it's just something that you do out of obligation.

When Benji is a pastor we will not have a time of "shaking the hand of the person beside you..."

Purell has become my closest friend at church.

I have also decided this week that buffet style dining is something I will no longer be participating in. Last Friday, (the night Benji ran out of gas) we ate at a buffet style restuarant. Benji wanted to go to our favorite sandwhich place for a quick meal. I however, being the pregnant, somewhat gluttonous, hungry woman I am suggested that we go to this random place we have never been. I knew it was cheap and I knew that I could get alot more food for about the same price.

As soon as we sat down, I knew that it was a mistake, but we had to pay at the door before we ate, so it was too late.

I walked to the salad bar and thought to myself, "I am so goind to get the flu from eating here...." You know, it was busy, it was friday night, and there were alot of people grabbing at serving spoons. All those people touching the same spoons with unwashed hands....serving themselves big heaping piles of all you can eat mashed potatoes and chicken. It's just not sanitary, so I won't be doing it again.

That was on Friday. Sunday I woke up with a cough, that progressed into a major head cold, or the flu, whatever it has been nasty. Today is Saturday and my fever finally broke last night.

My gluttonous ways led to my weak of misery.

Don't eat at buffets. And don't shake hands at church.
