Baby Legs

My favorite baby product as of now are these ADORABLE leg warmers that my classy friend Loria gave me.

They are perfect for crawlers, so they don't get carpet burn. And they are so cute!

Emery 9 Months

It has been awhile since I posted so I'm "marathon" posting tonight. We have been so busy with moving and ministry. We have finally finished our painting and revamping of the house. I've already hosted three parties! I had our monthly girls night get together, our entire family, and all Benji's Sunday School teachers over in a weeks time....whew!

Emery has also been keeping me busy. She is crawling all over the place now. She is eating new things every day. I think she is pretty much done with "baby" food. She really enjoys her "finger" foods now.

She has four teeth with another pushing through. At her 9 month appointment this week she measured in at 30 inches and 18 lbs....tall and skinny. ha ha I remember those days! So long ago!

Speaking of, I am still working hard to get rid of that baby weight that is still hanging on.

We also planted our first garden this spring. We have tomatoes, red, green and orange bell peppers, squash, blackberries, basil, parsley, dill, chives and oregano. yumm!

Benji is having not so much fun cutting the grass every weekend, but our yard sure does look good! We are having a blast in our new home and love being back in Greenville.

First experience with a half of a whole banana.

Girls Night: Derby Style

Back in February a few girls and I started getting together to have a Girls Night. Each month we take turns hosting theme parties. This month was my turn.

So in honor of my Kentucky "roots" I hosted my first ever "post" Derby party. Complete with hats, derby pie and mint juleps(baptist style, of course).

Girls Weekend In Hotlanta

A few weekends ago, the missions minister (Ange), the associate pastor's wife (Jocelyn), the daughter in law of the pastor AND SIL of Ange (Carla) and me got to get away for a much needed girls weekend!

We had a blast! We ate way too many carbs, I'm talking loaves of bread, people. Stayed up WAY too late talking our heads off, and spent too much money and time shopping......

We stayed in the swanky Grand Hyatt in Buckhead. We had dinner at Two Urban Licks, which is hidden in an old abandoned warehouse....way cool. Ange had eaten there before and hooked us up with reservations.

Saturday before the shopping excursion we had breakfast at the famous OK Cafe in Buckhead. We fueled up and headed on to Trader Joe's and then to Ikea.

Benji kept E all weekend, AND painted the bathroom! What a man I have! We had a blast and have the next one planned already.

To Da Eastside

We finally moved.

Hence the lack of blogging by yours truly. Any spare time we have is spent in the garage sorting through 7 years of crapola (can a pastors wife say crapola?).

I hate junk. But I'm too cheap just to throw it away, therefore I must sort through it all to see if there is any monetary value. I have to know if I could use it in anyway or if it could possibly be sold for any amount of cash....or given to Good Will and counted as a tax write off.

If you have alot of junk in your life I suggest you get rid of it.

It is very freeing to throw stuff out. It is also amazing to see people buy your junk at a yard sale...... like you have a secret they don't know. That it is really junk. Ha ha. I LOVE IT!

I made 230 dollars selling stuff that meant nothing! I mean like shoes from high school, clothes from 6 years ago, stuff I got for free in the mail, etc.

Let go of it. It's just stuff.

We have been mucho busy. Trying to get the house settled the way we'd like it to be. Emery is growing so fast. I love getting to stay at home with her.

Some days are overwhelming. Especially recently with so much to do around the house. But most days I really enjoy being at home.

I've been working on a post about C- sections like I promised. I'll finish it soon just as soon as I get the garage organized. ha ha.......

Oh Glorious Day

In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.

What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.

Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!

And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.

No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

Never Again

I'm sitting here listening to the bowling tournament going on upstairs. Whatever is going on has been going on ALL DAY.

It woke Emery up from her nap. Vance won't quit barking.

We will, I will never, ever again live in a bottom floor apartment.

We are moving next week. No matter what.
